What types of gemstones do you offer?

At Evolution Gemstones, we take pride in our hands-on approach to mining, particularly on the QLD Gemfields. The majority of our gemstones have been lovingly hand-mined by our family. While our collection boasts a diverse array of stones, sapphire and zircon are the most common gemstones we offer, exuding natural brilliance and charm. Additionally, we have access to Harts Range Zircon, further enhancing the exclusivity and uniqueness of our gemstone selection. Rest assured, each gemstone is meticulously selected and crafted to bring you the finest quality and enchanting beauty.

Are your gemstones ethically sourced?

Yes, we are committed to ethical practices. The majority of our gemstones are hand-mined by us, picks, shovels, using full artisan methods. Some of our other gemstones are obtained from reputable suppliers, who are generational miners, commonly mined decades ago and adhere to strict ethical standards, ensuring fair labor practices and responsible mining.

How should I care for my new gemstone?

To keep your gemstone looking its best, we recommend:

  • Gentle Handling: Always handle your gemstone with clean dry hands. Using gem prongs is an excellent method to minimize the risk of dropping or damaging the stone. If you don’t have access to prongs, ensure you handle the gemstone over soft ground surface or place a cloth underneath. This precautionary step reduces the chances of losing or damaging the gemstone in case of accidently drops. Remember, gentle handling preserves the beauty and integrity of your precious gem.
  • Storage: Store your gemstone separately from other jewellery or objects to prevent scratches. Use a soft cloth or individual pouch to keep it safe and protected.

Do you offer certification for your gemstones?

Yes, all our gemstones over a certain value (where economically viable) come with either a certificate of authenticity or a full valuation certificate, verifying their authenticity and quality. These certificates provide information about the gem’s characteristics, including cut, clarity, colour and caret weight.

Are gemstones available for approval before purchasing?

Unfortunately, we do not offer gemstones on approval.

What is the return policy?

We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. If for any reason you’re not happy with your gemstone, you can return it within 3 days of delivery for a full refund. Be sure to read our return policy for full terms and conditions.

Do you offer international shipping?

Yes, we ship our gemstones internationally (where possible). We currently ship to New Zealand, USA, UK and Europe. Our international shipping options ensure your precious purchases reach you safely and promptly. Be sure to read our shipping policy and rates for full terms and conditions.

Do you have a physical store where I can view the gemstones in person?

Currently, we operate as an online-only store, allowing us to offer a wide selection and competitive prices. We provide imagery and detailed descriptions for each gemstone to help you make an informed decision.

How long does it take to process an order?

We typically process orders within 1-2 days (excluding weekend and holidays) after receiving your order confirmation and payment. Once your order is shipping, you will receive a tracking number to monitor its progress.

What shipping options do you offer, and how long does delivery take?

We use Australia Post’s Express delivery service to ship all orders domestically and internationally. We do offer an option for a custom shipping quote using private courier services for selected orders. The delivery time depends on your location and shipping method selected. As a general rule, please allow 2-7 business days for domestic delivery and 10-20 business days for international. Please refer to our Shipping Policy and shipping rates for further information.

Do you offer free shipping?

What if my gemstone arrives damaged or is not as described?

In the rare event of receiving a damaged or incorrect gemstone, please contact us immediately. We will arrange a return at no additional cost. Please refer to our return policy for full terms and conditions.

Can I track my order’s shipping status?

Absolutely! Once your order is shipped, we will send you a tracking number, allowing you to monitor the status of your delivery.

What if I change my mind after placing an order? Can I cancel it?

If you wish to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible.  If your order has not been shipped, we will gladly cancel it and process a refund. However, if the order has already been shipped, you can follow our return policy for a refund.

Can I request a specific gemstone shape or size for a custom order?

Certainly! We strive to accommodate custom requests whenever possible.
